Los Gatos Magazine is a proud media sponsor of the the Rotary Club of Los Gatos’ 36th Annual Great Race on Sunday, April 28. The 4-mile scenic footrace/walk down route is along Highway 9 from Big Basin Way in Saratoga to N. Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos. Whether you are looking for a great course for your best time, or a fun individual or family run, this is the event for you.
Dating back to its origin in 1978, the race is among the oldest of its kinds in the Bay Area. The Rotary Club’s goal for this year is 2000 participants. The race begins at 9 a.m. on Big Basin Way. At the finish, a Fun & Fitness Fair will feature music, food, booths and event T-shirts.
Proceeds benefit a number of organizations, including Los Gatos High School student scholarships, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Second Harvest Food Bank, Southwest YMCA, Live Oak Senior Nutrition Center, Hospice of the Valley, Hope Rehabilitation Services, Loaves and Fishes, Los Gatos Seniors Coordinating Council, Rotoplast and Children’s Corrective Services, Wheelchair Foundation and Polio Eradication Project.
